One of my first oil paintings, this incindiary piece was inspired by the Bremerton Kona Village Fire in 1997, which both provided the subject matter for this particular piece and robbed me of most of my other creative outlets, at least for a while. This is the first painting where I felt a full sense of the possibilities that oils allowed for.
